Helping students turn grades, credit hours, and quality points into a clear grade point average.
College GPA Calculator is a free, browser-based tool built for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students who want an accurate estimate of their semester GPA, cumulative GPA, weighted GPA, and major GPA — without signing up for anything.
Grade Point Average
TOTAL QUALITY POINTS ÷ TOTAL CREDIT HOURSAn A in a 3-credit course plus a B in a 4-credit course produces 24 quality points across 7 credit hours — a GPA near 3.43.
Built by people who kept doing GPA math by hand.
College GPA Calculator started as a small spreadsheet used to check a semester GPA before an advising appointment. Manually multiplying grade points by credit hours, adding quality points, and dividing by total credits worked, but it was slow and easy to get wrong when plus/minus grades, repeated courses, and Pass/Fail credit entered the picture.
We rebuilt that spreadsheet into a browser tool that anyone could use for free — no login, no spreadsheet formulas, no guesswork. Today the calculator supports standard, 4.3, and no-plus/minus grading scales, alongside semester, quarter, and trimester academic systems.
Making grade point average easier to understand — not just to calculate.
Our mission is to remove the friction between a transcript full of letter grades and a clear, trustworthy GPA estimate, so students can plan academic decisions with confidence.
